Our Director shares the vision, purpose, and heart behind Buddy Program CIC — a community built on inclusion, learning, and belonging.

Welcome,

It is with great pride and deep purpose that I introduce our Community Interest Company (CIC), built with the vision of creating a more welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for migrants settling in the United Kingdom.

Moving to a new country can be an exciting but also overwhelming experience — one filled with cultural differences, language barriers, and a sense of uncertainty. Our mission is to walk alongside those who are starting this new journey, offering not just practical support, but genuine human connection.

Through cultural orientation sessions, English conversation groups, creative and faith-based events, and one-to-one buddy support, we aim to build bridges — between communities, between cultures, and between people. Our programmes are designed not only to help newcomers adapt and thrive but also to bring long-standing residents and new arrivals together in mutual respect and understanding.

At the heart of everything we do is a belief in the strength of diversity, the power of community, and the value of every individual’s story. Whether you are newly arrived and looking for support, or someone who wants to offer your time and kindness as a buddy or volunteer — there is a place for you here.

It is an honour to serve as the Company Secretary for this vital initiative. As we continue to build a community rooted in inclusion, empathy, and cultural understanding, my role is to ensure that our operations are not only efficient and compliant, but also reflect the values we hold dear.

Behind every programme, event, and support service we deliver is a commitment to accountability, good governance, and sustainable impact. We want every individual who engages with us — whether as a newcomer seeking guidance or a volunteer offering support — to feel safe, respected, and valued.

2018

Founded as a small community group supporting newcomers.
2019

Launched English Conversation Circles with 50+ participants.
2021

Expanded programs to include cultural orientation and arts events.
2023

Reached 500+ participants annually and 10+ languages represented.
